“What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh, it’s only the best day of the year…ladies celebrating ladies.” – Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation

Last year we talked about Galentine’s Day, and this year it has grown to be even bigger. On February 13th, the day before Valentine’s Day, women worldwide celebrate the gal-pal day. In 2010, Galentine’s Day was introduced via the sitcom “Parks and Recreation.” We apologize fellas, this holiday is for the ladies.

There is no perfect way to celebrate Galentine’s Day. Consider my five (5) ideas for celebrating in 2022:

  1. Host a virtual celebration over coffee or cocktails.
  2. Have a signature mocktail or cocktail. Explore Instagram worthy Valentine’s Day Cocktails
  3. Watch a Rom-Com! From When Harry Met Sally to The Wedding Planner there are plenty from which to choose.
  4. Have a virtual crafting party! Pinterest is flooded with great ideas. Pick a beverage suggestion from above and have fun creating!
  5. Set up a home spa day; you and your gals can hang virtually while pampering yourselves.

No matter what you choose to do, take a moment to appreciate the friends that surround you and let them know how much they mean to you.

“All I can tell you today is what I have learned. What I have discovered as a person in this world. And that is this: you can’t do it alone. As you navigate through the rest of your life, be open to collaboration. Other people and other people’s ideas are often better than your own. Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.” Amy Poehler (Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation)

Happy Galentine’s Day!
